Criminal Investigations Section
The Elk Grove Village Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Section is a unit of the Support Services Division. This Section is responsible for conducting follow-up investigations, background checks of fire and police applicants and liquor license and massage parlor license applicants. Each investigator assigned these tasks spends a considerable amount of time with these matters to complete as thorough an investigation as possible.
Members of the Criminal Investigation Section maintain memberships and network with various agencies through the West Suburban Detective Association, the Midwest Homicide Investigators Association, the Suburban Detective Commanders Association and the DuPage County Detective Association.

This section maintains liaison with local schools, agencies and other resources, which provide services for youths.
The Elk Grove Village Police Department has joined with TestMyTeen to provide parents with an effective means to test their teens for drug use/abuse through a FREE home drug test initiative. Through our DARE programs, we have tried to educate kids to "just say no" to drugs. Even great kids can make poor decisions and sometimes parents have tough questions to ask their children.
For years, police have been the first to know when local kids used drugs while their parents were often the last to know. In an effort to help answer parents questions and concerns, TestMyTeen has
provided the Elk Grove Village Police Department with $5000.00 worth of FREE at home drug test vouchers.
